Companion Education™ does not maintain a centralized cloud database containing this user-created content.

Companion Education™ is an educator productivity tool, not a Student Information System (SIS). Users should not enter or speak personally identifiable student information, including:
• Full student names
• Official student identification numbers
• Birth dates
• Addresses or personal contact information
• Medical or health information
• IEP or 504 Plan information
• Confidential educational records
• Individually identifiable grades or assessment information

Guidance for Educators: Use initials (e.g., SW), a non-identifying nickname, a general description, or another reference that would not identify the student.

For users who choose to utilize optional voice features, voice command text is temporarily transmitted to the Google Gemini API solely for real-time natural language processing.

Key safeguards in place:
• We utilize an enterprise-tier, paid Google Gemini API configuration.
• Prompts and responses are not used to train or improve Google's AI models.
• We maintain no cloud database of your voice recordings or voice-command history.

Always refrain from speaking sensitive student details. For example:
• Instead of: “Remind me to meet with Sophia Williams about her reading assessment.”
• Say: “Remind me to meet with SW about reading.”

Like standard modern applications, our servers process limited technical metadata (such as browser type, IP address, device type, security logs, and diagnostic telemetry) necessary for network security, licensing verification, and operational stability.

This technical diagnostic processing operates strictly at the system infrastructure level. It does not store or process your personal classroom notes or student tracking records.

To provide absolute transparency regarding our privacy boundaries, Companion Education™ commits that it does not:
• Maintain a centralized cloud database of your classroom content
• Sell or rent student personally identifiable information
• Sell or rent your classroom content
• Use classroom content to build advertising profiles
• Use student information for behavioral or targeted advertising
• Maintain a cloud history of your voice commands
• Require personally identifiable student information for normal use of the app
